Overview
One of the best ways to find out what your website visitors want is to ask them. However, conducting surveys online can be difficult and frustrating if the tools to do so don't make it easy for people to participate in the survey. St. Joseph Hospital wanted to poll visitors, but knew that it would be critical to have a system that could flex with their needs and client response.
The Business Challenge
After completing their new website, St. Joseph Hospital wanted to poll their visitors to find out what they thought and what could be improved upon. However, they were faced with the challenge of creating an online poll that visitors would actually complete and the data from which could be compiled and sifted to result in useful information going forward. They presented the following requirements to Scorpion Healthcare:
System Requirements
- A Flash overlay on pages and sub pages that would ask for participation in the survey.
- An administrative console to the survey where questions and answers could be added and changed.
- A reporting system that would gather and present the information for management to work with.
- A method for the visitors to decline participation and not be presented with the overlay on subsequent visits.
The Solution
Scorpion Healthcare was able to build a Flash and .NET survey system for St. Joseph Hospital with all of the features they needed. This system was completed in a few weeks of time and provided St. Joseph Hospital with a reliable and quick way to gather data about their website and services. By cross marketing in monthly newsletters and other portions of the website, the response to the survey was spectacular and helped create online initiatives for the future. St. Joseph Hospital believes in their ability to constantly improve and adapt to growing and changing patient needs.
